G.S.R. 448(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 18 of the Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949 (66 of 1949), clauses (b) and (c) of Sub-section (2) of Section 141 of the Border Security Force Act, 1968 (47 of 1968), and sub-section (1) read with clause (b) of sub-section (2) of Section 156 of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force Act, 1992 (35 of 1992), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of recruitment in the combatised Group 'A' Medical Officers' posts in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Central Police Forces, namely:- 1. Short title and commencement. - (1) These regulations may be called the Central Police Forces Combined Medical Officers Cadre Rules, 2006. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Number of Posts, classification and scale of Pay. - The number of the said posts, their classification and scales of pay shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the aforesaid Schedule annexed to these rules. 3. Method of recruitment, age limit and qualification etc. - The method of recruitment, age limit and qualifications and other matters relating to the said posts shall be as specified in columns (5) to (14) of the aforesaid Schedule. 4. Medical Fitness. - Medical Officers who are in medical category of Shape-I shall be eligible for appointment on promotion under these rules. 5. Eligibility List for Promotion. - A combined Eligibility List of Chief Medical Officer (Non-Functional Selection Grade) and Specialist Grade-I drawn from all Central Police Forces shall be maintained by the Office of Additional Director General (Medical). 6. Disqualification. - No person,-(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or
(b) who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,
