G.S.R. 592(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely: - 1. Short title and commencement. - (1) These rules may be called the Coinage of One Hundred Fifty Rupees Coin to commemorate the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Rules, 2019. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Denomination of Coin. - The coin of the denomination shall only be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government on the occasion of "150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi" namely, One Hundred Fifty Rupees. 3. Dimension and composition of coin. - The coin of the above denomination mentioned in rule 2 shall conform to the following dimensions and composition, namely: -

First Schedule

1. One Hundred Fifty Rupees Obverse. - This face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend ^^lR;eso t;rs** inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word ^^Hkkjr** in Devnagri script and on the right periphery with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol "L" and denominational value "150" in International Numerals below the Lion Capitol. Reverse. - This face of the coin shall bear the portrait of "Mahatma Gandhi" holding the hand carrying stick. A numeral 150 crafted from iconic articles used by Mahatma Gandhi along with inscription "Years of Celebrating The Mahatma" in English is depicted besides the portrait. The inscription "150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi" in English on top periphery and below that inscription ^^egkRek xka/kh dh 150 oha t;arh** in Devnagri script are made on coin. The year "1869-2019" in international numeral shall be flanked above the numeral 150 of the coin.Second Schedule
