Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin on the Occasion of 75th Anniversary of Food and Agriculture Organisation) Rules, 2020

G.S.R. 565 (E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely: -

1. Short title and commencement. - (1) These rules may be called the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin on the occasion of 75th Anniversary of Food and Agriculture Organisation) Rules, 2020.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Denomination of Coin. - The coin of Seventy Five Rupees denomination shall also be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government on the occasion of "75th Anniversary of Food and Agriculture Organisation".

3. Dimension and composition of coin. - The coin of the above denomination mentioned in rule 2 shall conform to the following dimensions and composition, namely:-

4. Design. - The design of the coin shall be as specified in the First Schedule to these rules.

5. Standard weight and remedy allowed. - The standard weight of the coin of above denomination coined to commemorate the occasion of 75th Anniversary of Food and Agriculture Organisation and the remedy allowed in making of the coin shall be as specified in the Second Schedule to these rules.

The First Schedule

Seventy Five Rupees

Obverse. - This face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend ^^lR;eso t;rs** inscribed below. The words ^^Hkkjr** in Hindi and "INDIA" in English with five pointed star in between the two words inscribed on the upper periphery. It shall also bear the denominational value "75" in International Numeral and the words ^^#i;s** in Hindi and "Rupees" in English on the lower periphery. The inscription on upper and lower peripheries shall be separated by a dash on either side.

Reverse. - This face of the coin depicts a lotus in full bloom floating on water in the centre, with ears of cereal on either side. The rising sun cut by the upper periphery shall appear above the lotus. The inscription "FAO" in English is encircled on sketch of sun. A year "2020" in international numeral shall be flanked below the picture of lotus on the coin. On bottom periphery of the coin the inscription ^^lgh iks"k.k ns'k jks'ku** in Devnagri script is made.

1/500th plus or minus for silver, that is to say, the Silver content may vary from 498 to 502 per 1000.
