(ii) The State Government may for the purpose of this Act define by rules the expression 'maintained at public expense' in relation to residence.4. Conveyance Allowance. - There shall be paid to the Deputy Speaker a conveyance allowance of Rupees one hundred per mensem. 5. Travelling and daily allowances. - The Deputy Speaker shall be entitled to travelling and daily allowances in respect of tours undertaken by him in the discharge of his official duties at such rates and upon such conditions as may be determined by the State Government. 6. Prohibition against practising any profession, drawing salary as member, etc. - The Deputy Speaker shall not,
(i) during the tenure of his office for which he draws salary, practise any profession or engage in any trade or undertake for remuneration any employment other than his duties as Deputy Speaker, and
(ii) while he draws salary for his office, be entitled to receive any sum out of funds provided Dy the Assam Legislative Assembly by way of salary or allowances in respect of his membership of the Assam Legislative Assembly.7. Repeal. - The Assam Deputy Speaker's Salary Act, 1948 (Act V III of 1948) is hereby repealed.
