Received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 5th May, 1954, and was first published in the Punjab Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 11th May, 1954.
An Act to amend the Indian Forest Act, 1927 (Act XVI of 1927) in its application to Punjab.
It is hereby enacted as follows :-
1. Short title and extent. - (1) This Act may be called The Indian Forest (Punjab Amendment) Act, 1954. Punjab Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 9th March, 1954.
(2) It extends to the whole of Punjab.
Statement of Objects and Reasons. - This Bill seeks to invest the State Government with power to frame rules for disposal of trees and timber or other forest produce belonging to Government.

2. Amendment of section 76 of Act XVI of 1927. - In clause (c) of section 76 of the Indian Forest Act, 1927, between the word "timber" and the word "belonging" the words "or other forest produce" shall be inserted, and the words "not grown on lands belonging to or in the occupation of private persons" shall be omitted.
