The Coroner of Bombay and the Additional Coroner of Bombay Recruitment Rules, 1980

(a) by transfer of a suitable Metropolitan Magistrate; or
(b) by nomination from amongst candidates who, -
(i) are not more than 45 years of age; and
(ii) have been practising as advocates, attorneys or pleaders in the High Court of Judicature at Bombay or any of the Courts subordinate thereto for not less than five years or have practised as such and have been Judicial Magistrate of the First Class for an aggregate period of five years, on the last date prescribed for submission of applications for the posts :
Provided that, the age limit may be relaxed by Government on the recommendation of the M.P.S.C. in favour of candidates having exceptional qualifications or experience or both : Provided further that, if on any occasion any of the said posts is reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Denotified Tribes or Nomadic Tribes and no such candidate having experience or practice for the period specified in clause (ii) or holding the post of Judicial Magistrate of the First Class for the period specified in the clause is available to fill up the vacancy, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission may notwithstanding anything contained in the said clause, relax the requirement as respects such period and select suitable candidate belonging to such castes or tribes. 3. A person appointed to either of the said posts by nomination shall be on probation for a period of two years. 4. A person appointed to either of the said posts by nomination shall be required to pass the examinations in Hindi and Marathi according to the rules made in that behalf, unless he has already passed, or has been exempted from passing, those examinations.
