Notification No. AGT-2873/20351-15-A, dated 18th September, 1978.- In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India and in supersession of all existing rules and orders issued in this behalf and in force in the State or any part thereof, the Governor of Maharashtra is pleased to make the following rules regulating recruitment to the post of Draftsman in the Agriculture Department of the Government of Maharashtra, namely :-

1. These rules may be called the Maharashtra Agriculture Department (Draftsman) Recruitment Rules, 1978.

2. Appointment to the post of Draftsman in the Agriculture Department of the Government of Maharashtra shall be made either,

(a) by promotion of a suitable person from cadre of traders, who have completed continuous service of not less than three years; or

(b) by nomination from amongst the candidates who,-

(i) unless already in the service of the Government of Maharashtra, are more than 25 years of age;

(ii) possess a Diploma in draftsmanship of civil Engineering of a recognised institution

3. Appointment to the posts by promotion and nomination shall be made in the ratio of 1:1.

4. A person appointed to the post whether by promotion or by nomination shall be required to pass examinations in Marathi and Hindi according to the rules made in that behalf, unless he has already passed or has been exempted from passing such examinations.
