The Orissa Akademis Employees Provident Funds and Terminal Benefits Rules, 1994

(a) "Akademis" means the Orissa Sahitya Akademi, the Orissa Sangeet Natak Akademi, the Orissa Lalitkala Akademi, the Orissa Urdu Akademi and such other institutions as may be notified by the Government;
(b) "Committee" means the committee comprising the Director of Culture, Orissa, the Secretaries of the Akademis and the Treasurer-cum-Financial Adviser of the Akademis;
(c) "Employees of the Akademis" means regular and full-time employees of the Akademis, but the term does not include part-time or contractual employees, ad hoc and contingent paid employees, employees in time-bound projects or schemes and employees on deputation to the Akademis and;
(d) "Government" means the State Government of Orissa in the Culture Department.3. Establishment of Funds. - (1) There shall be established by the Akademis special Funds styled as the Pension Fund, the General Provident Fund and the Contributory Provident Fund. (2) The Funds mentioned in Sub-rule (1) shall be operated by the Committee as per such detailed procedure as may be determined by, the Committee in consultation with the Government. 4. Adoption of the provisions under the Orissa Universities, Act for the Employees of the Akademis. - (1) Subject to the provisions contained hereinbefore, the provisions contained in the Orissa Universities First Statutes, 1990 and other regulations and instructions issued under the Orissa Universities Act, 1939 or the Statutes thereunder (as amended from time to time) relating to Contributory Provident Fund, General Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity and other terminal benefits shall be applicable to the employees of the Akademis, mutatis mutandis. (2) The Government may issue executive instructions for the guidance of the Akademis on operational matters. 5. Interpretation. - If a doubt arises in respect of any of the provisions of these rules, the matter shall be referred to the Government, whose decision thereon shall be final.
