The Orissa Lokpal (Conditions of Service) Rules, 1984

(a) "Act" means the Orissa Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 1970;
(b) "Government" means the Government of Orissa;
(c) "section" means a section of the Act.(2) Ail other words and expressions used but not defined in these rules shall have the same meaning as respectively assigned to them in the Act. 3. Residential accommodation. - (1) The Lokpal shall be entitled, without payment of rent, to the use of a residence provided by the Government in Bhubaneswar throughout his term of office. (2) The residence provided under Sub-rule (1) shall be maintained by the Government who shall be responsible for payment of the charges on account of rates and taxes due to Government or any local authority and the provisions of electricity and water including maintenance thereof. 4. Conveyance. - The Government shall provide a motor car alongwith a driver for the use of Lokpal and shall bear all expenditure on its maintenance and repairs including expenditure on toll (only for official purpose). 5. Travelling and daily allowance. - The Lokpal shall be entitled to travelling allowance and daily allowance for journeys undertaken by him for the purpose of his duties at the rates admissible to the Chief Justice of a High Court. 6. Leave. - The Lokpal shall be entitled to leave in accordance with the provisions of the High Court Judges (Conditions of Services) Act, 1954 (28 of 1954) and the rules made thereunder applicable to the Judge of a High Court. 7. Pension. - The Lokpal shall, on ceasing to hold office as such, be paid a pension for life at the rate of one thousand and four hundred rupees only per annum for each completed year of service as the Lokpal, or proportionately for a part thereof Provided that-
(i) the maximum amount of such pension shall not exceed seven thousand rupees only per annum;
(ii) in computing the proportionate pension for a part of the year, only six monthly period of completed service shall be taken into account ; and
(iii) such pension alongwith other pensions that any person is already getting shall not exceed two thousand three hundred and thirty three rupees only per mensem.8. Dearness allowance. - The Lokpal shall be entitled to Dearness Allowance and Additional Dearness Allowance at the rates admissible to the members of the Indian Administrative Service drawing pay of three thousand and five hundred rupees only and above, per mensem. 9. Leave encashment benefit. - The Lokpal shall be entitled to leave encashment benefit as admissible to the Judge of a High Court.
