The Orissa Water-Supply and Sewerage Board Rules, 1994

(a) "Act" means the Orissa Water Supply & Sewerage Board Act, 1991;
(b) "Government" means the Government of Orissa;
(c) "Head Quarters" means the station where the records of the Board are kept;
(d) "Vice-Chairman" means the Vice-Chairman of the Board.(2) All other words and expressions used but not defined in these rules, unless the context otherwise requires shall have the same meaning as respectively assigned to them in the Act. 3. (1) The Vice-Chairman of the Board shall be entitled to compensatory allowance as may be fixed by the Government. (2) He shall be provided with a free furnished quarters for his residence at Headquarters.
Note. - In case of non-availability of any quarters allotted by the Government for his residential accommodation, the Board shall hire a private building for his residential accommodation.(3) He shall be entitled to Travelling Allowances as admissible to a Class-I Officer of the Government. (4) He shall be entitled to one orderly Peon and one Senior Stenographer as Personal Assistant for his office. 4. (1) The members of the Board other than the Chairman and Vice-Chairman, shall be paid a sitting allowance of rupees one hundred and fifty only per day for attending the meeting of the Board. (2) (i) A member, who on the date of performing his duties as such is not in the services of the Union or a State Government, shall for the journey performed for the purpose of the Board, be entitled to the travelling allowance at the rates, and subject to the conditions, specified in Orissa Travelling Allowance Rules applicable to the Senior Class-I officers of the Government.
(ii) A member, who on the date of his appointment as such is in the service of the Union or a State Government shall until he returns from such service or post, continue to be governed by the Travelling Allowance Rules applicable to him in such service.
Note. - After retirement from such service, he shall be governed as per the provisions of Clause (1) above.5. Government employees while working for the Board in addition to their own duties under orders of Government shall be entitled to a fixed allowance per month to be paid by the Board with the approval of the Government. 6. The members shall be entitled to accommodation in Circuit House or Inspection Bungalows of the Government inside the State when on tour for attending official meeting in connection with the functions of the Board.
